Mandarin Immersion Magnet School (MIMS) is a premier language immersion school in the Houston Independent School District (HISD), proudly serving students from Pre-K through 8th grade. As the first dedicated Mandarin immersion school in Texas, MIMS provides a rigorous academic program that integrates Mandarin Chinese language and culture with a strong foundation in core subjects such as math, science, social studies, and English language arts.

Our dual-language model fosters bilingualism, biliteracy, and cultural competence by immersing students in both English and Mandarin from an early age. Through this innovative approach, students develop high levels of proficiency in both languages while mastering grade-level academic content.
